Margaret Inez Seba

June 8, 1928 – April 17, 2025

Margaret Inez Seba, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love. Born on June 8, 1928, in Winfield, Kansas, to Paul and Grace Lawrence, Margaret lived a life marked by grace, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her community and family.

She attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, where her love for learning and her Jayhawk pride took root—a passion that lasted a lifetime. Margaret married the love of her life, Donald L. Seba, on January 31, 1948. Together, they raised three children: Randy (and Linda) of Overland Park, KS; Don (and Cissy) of Bella Vista, AR; and Barb (and Rich) of Bella Vista, AR.

In January 1984, Margaret and Don moved to Bella Vista from Overland Park, Kansas. She quickly became an active and cherished member of United Lutheran Church, serving faithfully as the church organist beginning in 1984 and later as bell choir director starting in 1988. She was a vibrant leader in the Lutheran Women's Organization, holding numerous roles including president, secretary, treasurer, pianist, Bible study leader, and circle chairman. She was also a member of the Esther Circle and co-leader of the Visiting Phoebes.

Beyond Bella Vista, Margaret served as president of the Arkansas/Oklahoma Synodical Women's Organization for four years, and prior to that, held the same position for the Central States Lutheran Women while living in Kansas. She also played a key role as a board member for four additional years. Her musical talents graced many congregations over the years, including Faith Lutheran in Prairie Village, KS, and Memorial Drive Lutheran in Houston, TX.

Margaret had a green thumb and a joyful spirit—she loved gardening, swimming, and always had a birthday or anniversary card in the mail for loved ones. She never missed a crossword puzzle and stayed current on golf championships and Jayhawk basketball standings.

She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren—Eric, Shawn, Zoe, Suzanne, Bryan, Megan, Ian, and Erin—thirteen great-grandchildren—Matthew, Caden, Joshua, Molly, Connor, Mason, Evelyn, Noelle, Ben, Boston, Britan, Rowan, and Knox—and beloved great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don, in 2009, and her brother, Bob Lawrence of Overland Park.

Margaret's life was filled with music, service, and deep love for her family and faith. She will be missed dearly and remembered always.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Rd, Bella Vista, AR 72715.
