Marilyn ("Lynn") Jean Muirhead, 88, Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on March 6, 2022. She was born January 12, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Ralph Lewis Mason and Sylvia Bell (Crandall).
Lynn moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She then attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri.
She married Robert L. Payne in 1952 and they raised three children, Douglas, Jeffrey, and Deborah.
Lynn had a variety of occupations, including secretary, insurance sales, and real estate agent. She loved camping, fishing, golf, and anything outdoors.
Lynn met Howard "Lloyd" Muirhead in Omaha, Nebraska, and they married on January 24, 1981. They were looking forward to celebrating 40 years of a wonderful life together, when Lloyd passed away on her birthday in January 2021.
Lynn and Lloyd moved to Bella Vista in 1990 where they were very active. They loved to play golf, travel, fish, spend time on the lake, host large get-togethers for their many friends, and watch their beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers football games. She was a member of the Bella Vista Women's 18-hole golf league, bridge and poker clubs, church missions council, and Nebraska Club. She enjoyed investing in the stock market, and served as President of the VIP Investment Club.
Lynn was preceded in death by her husband Robert; son Douglas Payne; brother Daryl Mason; and sister Corinne Pool.
Survivors include son Jeff Payne of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter Deborah Dowis of Gretna, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A visitation will not be held. A Memorial service and burial will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery, April 1, 2022, at 12:30 p.m.
