Obituary

Michael “Mike” Mokiao Natividad was born in March 1950 in San Francisco, California, to Cornelius Espirito Natividad and Nancy Mokiao Naividad. He was the fourth of five children, with three older sisters and one younger brother. Mike loved his family and the time he spent watching his nieces and nephews, and later his great-nieces and great-nephews, grow.

Mike attended St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco and graduated in 1968. He went on to attend the University of San Francisco, where he majored in Psychology.

Mike later met his wife, Nancy Jane Graham, and the two were married in Sausalito, California in 1981, beginning a life together filled with family, adventure, laughter, and countless memories. Their journey together took them to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Honolulu, Hawaii; and then, after 11 years in UPS transportation, Mike and Nancy eventually made their way to Bentonville, Arkansas where he began a career with Walmart in 1986.

Mike spent 28 years working for Walmart before retiring in 2014 while living in Loveland, Colorado. Retirement suited Mike well. He loved playing golf, savoring his favorite Filipino foods, enjoying a good kung fu film, traveling with Nancy, taking a nap—anytime, anywhere—spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow, and, when there was time, squeezing in some more golf. Mike and Nancy eventually returned to Northwest Arkansas in 2015 to spend the retirement years closer to family.

Mike and Nancy shared many wonderful adventures throughout their marriage, including a once-in-alifetime safari to Kenya this past June—an unforgettable trip and a beautiful memory they were able to make together just months before his passing.

Mike was a devoted father and stepfather, and an adoring grandfather. He is survived by his three children: Christine Dellafosse (Daniel) of Daly City, California; Alexandria Hunt (Will) of Rogers, Arkansas; and Matthew Natividad of Bella Vista, Arkansas; stepson Michael Burks (Jodi) of Bentonville, Arkansas; and his six grandchildren—Mick Burks, Hunter Burks, Kennedy Hunt, Emma Dellafosse, Reagan Hunt, and Skipper Dellafosse.

Mike was called home to the Lord on October 7, 2026, at the age of 76 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. Fortified by the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, he passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Espirito and Nancy Mokiao Natividad.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife, Nancy; his sisters, Cornelia (the late Bob), Louise (the late Pete), and Linda (Terry); his brother, Mark (Tatyana); his children, Christine, Alexandria, and Matthew; his stepson, Michael; his grandchildren, Mick, Hunter, Kennedy, Emma, Reagan, and Skipper; and his beloved schnauzer, Bubba.

Mike will be remembered for his love of family, golf and good food, his adventurous heart, and the countless memories he created with the people he loved most. His greatest legacy will be the family he built and the love he gave them. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on his behalf to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, P.O. Box 2126, Lowell, AR 72745.
