Patricia Ann McCurdy King, age 81, passed away on June 22, 2024, in Bentonville, AR.

She was born May 16, 1943, in Corning, New York to Robert (Red) Milton and Norma Irene (Jones) McCurdy. Pat attended schools in Corning and graduated from Keuka College in Penn Yan, New York. She began teaching in Greenville, and Corning NY.

Pat married her high school love, James King, December 12, 1964, and joined him as he served in the Air Force in Adana, Turkey. She taught with the USA Military School System and at Adana College.

Pat taught for several years at Eastlawn Elementary School in Rantoul, IL. She continued to teach or sub as the couple moved many times. She changed careers and became a social worker and adoption specialist. Her greatest sense of accomplishment was teaching children how to read, love math, enjoy music, swim and create new families. She was an accomplished musician and taught piano lessons for 21 years.

Pat and Jim nurtured and loved six children: Kevin, Robert, Jason, Michelle, Brandon and Angela. They have been blessed with six grandchildren: Justin, Carter, Kennedy, Alyssa, Kylee and Emily.

Pat was active with the Boy Scouts of America acting as a troop leader for several years and was very proud that four sons and two grandsons became Eagle Scouts. She was a leader for Girl Scouts and encouraged her daughters to strive for the gold award. After retiring to Bella Vista, she was active in her church, baking cookies and doing house tours. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for several years.

Pat loved to throw parties and cook for crowds. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing games and any type of cards. She was a crafter and a quilter.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
