Patricia Mae VandenBerge (nee Welch), 83, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away on April 12, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1941, in Snomac, Seminole County, Oklahoma to Samuel and Alpha Welch. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas where she attended East High School, graduating in 1959.

On July 26, 1968, Pat married Paul VandenBerge, with whom she shared 54 joyful years of marriage until his passing in June 2023. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, fun and adventure, while living in many interesting places including Wichita, Montreal, Tucson and Puerto Rico. They moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1988 where they made countless memories and lasting friendships.

Pat had a zest for life and especially enjoyed exploring the outdoors with Paul, camping, fishing, boating and birdwatching. She was also an avid golfer and had a passion for photography and bridge. Above all, she found her greatest happiness in the company of family and friends.

She is survived by her son, William McCleary of Bentonville, AR; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Greg Belanger, of Kelowna, British Columbia; and two granddaughters: Stephanie Barton (husband, Kyle) of Calgary, Alberta and 3 great-grandsons (Charlie, Oscar, Harvey Barton) and Nicole Simmons (husband, Craig) of Seattle, Washington and 2 great-grandchildren (Sloane and Jack Simmons).

Pat will be remembered for her warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
