Obituary

Patty O’Bannon, 77, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on October 9, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1949, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Wilford Lee Hindmon and Beatrice Jackson Gillespie.

Patty devoted her working life to caring for others as a certified nursing assistant, compassionately serving elders in her community. She ran the Village House Adult Daycare Center in Bella Vista with pride and passion. She loved people and found joy in decorating, riding and showing horses, cats and dogs, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She attended Highlands Methodist Church in Bella Vista. She was a member of the Lions Club, Eastern Star, Red Hatters, Mother-to-Mother Ministry, and Stephen Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents, Wilford Lee Hindmon and Beatrice Jackson Gillespie; and her sister, Regina.

Patty is survived by her boyfriend, Robert Prazak; her three children, Gary (Jody) Larson of Marshalltown, Iowa, Cynthia Larson of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Laurie Pearson of Centerton, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, Kacee, Hope, Dylan, Erica, Michael, Mandy, Nichole, Robert, Jennifer, Matthew, David-Lee, and Joseph; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Bella Vista Funeral Home, officiated by Rick MacLeay. A second celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City, Iowa. She loved the color Pink, and her nickname was “Pink Patty”. Some others knew her as “Peppermint Patty”. In honor of her, we are asking everyone to wear some form of PINK at her Celebration of Life.
