As a baptized believer, Paul James Adams, age 85, of Hiwasse, AR entered Heaven on Monday, February 20, 2023, after an extended battle with cancer. He was born in Pyatt, AR on June 24, 1937, to Paul Henry Adams and Mary Elizabeth Purdom Adams.

James's lifelong dream was to be a successful dairy farmer.  He owned and operated dairies in Centerton, AR and Flippin, AR for many years.  His wife and daughters always marveled at his self-taught gardening, cooking, and fix-most-anything abilities. His workplace careers include Ranger Boats, Flippin AR, Quinn's Coffee Company, Springfield, MO, and Mass Merchandisers/SAV-A-STOP, Harrison, AR.

James was an avid gardener and Cardinals baseball fan. His favorite pastimes since his wife's passing included people-watching at the local cafe and keeping abreast of world-wide affairs and most sports via television.  His daughters' most precious memory was witnessing their dad's and mom's baptism at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 57 years, Joye Mae Richardson Adams; one daughter, Pamela Carole Adams; one sister, Virginia Greer; and brothers, Bill Adams, Jacky Adams, and Ricky Joe Adams.

He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Kay Adams Lockhart and her husband, Ross; grandchildren Jennifer Lockhart Batie (Doug), Christopher R. Lockhart (Sara), Amanda Lockhart Adams (Shawn), Joshua E. Lockhart, and Cortney Pangle Carlson (Kelly); sister, Janis McHaney; brother Johny Adams, numerous nieces and nephews; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Inurnment of ashes will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hiwasse AR under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory and Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association.  A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
