Raymond Mincer, 83, passed away at home on August 9, 2024, surrounded by his family and pets. He fought cancer for 10 years.
Ray was born in Sioux City, IA to Raymond M., Sr, and DeEtta M. (Christensen) Mincer and resided there until moving to Minnesota in 1988. He lived in Burnsville, MN, until moving to Arkansas in 2020.
Ray served in the Iowa National Guard for 10 years. He worked a variety of positions ending with Hiawatha Reddy Rents, MPLS, (19 years), Metro Transit (10 years) and Hy Vee (2 years).
Ray had a pure passion for golf and watched and played from childhood until he couldn't anymore. He was a true Iowa Hawkeye football fan, tried to watch every game on TV, and read every article written about the team and coaches. Ray was an avid motorcyclist and a core member of the Twin Cities Motorcycle Club. He had many talents and was a handyman at many things. He was always there when anyone called on him for assistance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Dennis; and his sister, Sharon Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicki (Cassens) Mincer; daughter, Renee and son-in-law, Chris Hoefer of Waterloo, Iowa; son, Chad of Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Christine (Cassens) Rouillard and brother-in-law, Gary Evans; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; and many great nieces, nephews, good friends, and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theodores Episcopal Church, 1001 Kingsland Road, Bella Vista, AR 72714, officiated by Rev. Brandon J. Hudson, Rector.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elite Hospice, Rogers, AR.
