Richard Lee Beck, 86, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, formerly of Decatur and Beecher City, IL, died on September 12, 2024, at Primrose Retirement Community in Rogers, AR with his son by his side. He was born October 14, 1938, in Herrick, IL to Larry and Luela (Bolt) Beck.
Dick attended Beecher City High School and worked for Country Companies for over 40 years as a claims adjuster and later a claims coordinator. Dick and Janet wed on September 1, 1989, in Decatur, IL. Dick loved the retired life in Bella Vista, AR where he could golf almost all year long. He participated in multiple golf leagues and was very active at the Highlands golf course where he and Janet had been members. His other passions include collecting Corvettes and for years remodeled and flipping homes in the Decatur area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Luella; stepmother, Lydia Beck; wife, Janet Beck; sisters, Bonnie Doty and Shelby Strickland; brothers, Michael Beck and Dennis Beck; sister-in law, Wanda Beck; brother-in-laws, Robert Doty and Carl Strickland; nephew, Larry Doty; son in law, Kenn Bialecke; and grandsons, Kameron Bialecke, Bailey Beyers.
He is survived by his son, Chris Beck of Porter, TX; daughters, Sherilyn Bialecke of Ringgold, GA, Stephanie (Tom) Franey of Champaign, IL; siblings, Ronald Beck of Effingham, Leila (Mike) Wills of Beecher City and Roger (Rachel) Beck of Effingham; sister-in-law, Jan (Wayne) Werner of Effingham; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Jon Lindhjem of Omaha; grandchildren, Alexander Beck, Christopher Beck, Lindsey Bialecke, Keagan Bialecke, Aubrey McKenna Bialecke, Elizabeth Beyers, JT (Emily) Franey, Mary Beth Franey; and great grandchildren, Bo Beck, Wren Beyers and Noah Beyers.
Services will be held in Illinois where he will be laid to rest.
