Obituary

RL "Woody" Woodside, beloved husband of JoAnn (Burt)Woodside, departed this world on February 1, 2024, at 3:20 am in Bella Vista, AR, at the age of 90, after a long struggle with dementia. He was born on June 9, 1933, in Minco, Ok to Gladys Jo and Ross Leonard Woodside.

He was a graduate of Capitol Hill HS class of '51. He played steel guitar for the Oklahoma Harmony Boys on KPLR radio. RL served in the US ARMY from 1953-1955. After being drafted, he married the love of his life, JoAnn, on Nov. 3, 1953. He worked for Serta Mattress Co. before opening his own chain of stores called "The Sleep Shoppe".

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ellen Joyce Coker; and his wife.

Mourning his death and celebrating his life are his brother, Scott Woodside of Yukon; daughters, Donice and Rhonda; grandchildren, Jennifer, Hillary, Ashley, Ariel, and Anna to whom he was affectionately known as "Cow Pa" and "Chief Lie-A-Lot"; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a huge community of family and friends.

A special THANK YOU to the staff and nurses at Concordia Nursing and Rehab in Bella Vista, AR for their exceptional love and care for Woody and his family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 SW 104th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
