Ronald Lee Stephens (Ron or Ronnie), 72, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his home in Gravette, AR surrounded by his family after a long battle with health issues. He was born on January 16th, 1951, to Herbert A. Stephens and Geneva Stephens in Little Rock, AR.

Ron served in the United State's Army as a Sergeant and was with the 5th Army recon. He spent most of his time as a forwarded observer/point man for the Special Forces and the Rangers. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and Sharpshooter Rifle M-16.

He was a very devoted family man and would help anyone in need if he could. He was an avid horseman and was part of the Harrison to Springdale Annual wagon train for 20 plus years. He had many jobs growing up. His last job was with the USDA where he worked for 33 years and retired from. After retirement he worked on his farm. He was a very intelligent and wise man. He had so many ideas and built and invented a lot of different things. He could fix almost anything. He was also a very ORNERY man, and he will be deeply missed!!!

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his son, Eric Stephens; brothers, Danny and Dwayne; and nieces, Melissa and Cassandra.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Stephens of Gravette, AR; sons, Jacob and Laurel Stephens of Alpena, AR and Keith and Julie Stephens of Pineville, MO; widow of Eric Stephens, Kristen (daughter in law) of Green Forest, AR; brothers, Jimmy and Sue Stephens of Anna, TX and David Stephens of Berryville, AR; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715, with military honors to follow at 3:00 p.m.
