Roy Olen Byers, age 83, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Bella Vista, Arkansas on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. Roy was born on May 14, 1942, in Bentonville, Arkansas to Olen J. Byers and Esta Gertrude (Gholson) Byers.

He retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber in Indio, California and Springdale Ford in Springdale, Arkansas. Roy grew up on a large farm near Vaughn, Arkansas. After graduation from Bentonville High School in 1960, he moved to Indio, California where he met his wife of 63 years, Betty (White) Byers. Roy was a dedicated family man who loved his family, cars and bowling.

Roy is preceded in death by both parents; sons, Darryl Wayne Byers and Kevin Lloyd Byers; sisters, Clara Jo Houston, Veva Seville and LaRue Foster; and brothers, Glen Byers, Jack Byers and Powell Byers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Byers of Bella Vista, Arkansas; son, Darren Patrick Byers of Bella Vista, Arkansas; daughter, Dawne Marie Byers of Palm Desert, California; daughter, Danielle Leann Martinez of Carlsbad, California; his brother, Johnie Byers of Bullhead City, Arizona; sisters, LaVon Hauser (Don) of Thousand Palms, California and sister Sue Ellen Lee (Tom) of Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
