Ruby Joyce Kroona was born on September 9, 1930, to Ben and Florence Ellefloot in Minnewauken, North Dakota.  She was baptized and later affirmed her baptism.  Ruby died, her baptism complete, on July 13, 2025, at Brookfield Senior Living in Bella Vista, Arkansas.  She was 94 years old.

She grew up near International Falls, Minnesota.  She graduated from International Falls High School in 1948. After graduation, she attended Nursing School and began working as a nurse.

On September 1, 1956, she married Warner Kroona of Kandyohi, MN. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD.  Three children were born during the time in Sioux Falls: Michael, Kristi, and Mark.  The family moved to New Brighton, MN in 1965 after Warner received a promotion. Ruby was a dedicated homemaker and mom while the kids were in school.  They moved in 1987 to Chadds Ford, PA as Warner moved to the home office. They retired to Bella Vista in 1997.

Ruby was very active with church activities and circles at United Lutheran in Bella Vista and other Lutheran churches wherever they lived. She loved Christmas, even working at a Christmas store boutique.  She bought kids and grandkids Christmas ornaments for years, every Christmas. She also collected and read cookbooks; though not sure how often she actually tried the recipes she discovered.  She loved her cats in the last years and had a fondness for red lipstick.  She was a classy lady and always dressed to the nines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warner; and siblings, Arthur Ellefloot, and May Kittleson.

She is survived by children, Michael (Shelby) of Webster City, IA, Kristi Kroona Tostenrud of Bella Vista, AR, and Mark (Jaime) of Rockford, MN; grandchildren, Heather (David) Toyer of Lake Stevens, WA, Justin Kroona of Webster City, Kristopher (Desire) Kroona-Espinoza of North Liberty, IA, Andy (Nereide) Johnson of Mauricopa City, AZ, Matthew (Derek Knocke) Kroona, of Vail, AZ, Jonathan (Chelsea) Kroona of Bealeton, Virginia; sibling, Charlotte Tracy, of Kenniwick, WA; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.  Burial will be held on August 15, 2025, in Willmar, Minnesota at Fairview Cemetery.

Donations in Ruby's memory may be given to Fairview Cemetery Association, Box 481, Willmar, MN, 56201. The Association is a nonprofit managing the cemetery.
