Obituary

Shane C Thompson, 71, of Bella Vista, AR, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on September 18, 2025, at his home in Bella Vista, Arkansas.  He was the youngest of six children born February 13, 1954, in Hawthorne, Nevada to Vance and Mae Thompson.

Shane spent most of his years raising his beautiful family in and around Sacramento California.  He loved riding motorcycles and playing guitar. He was an accomplished contractor and builder and constructed several homes in California and Arkansas. As a young man, Shane was a sports enthusiast. With maturity, golf became his passion. In his most recent years the Gospel of Jesus Christ became his focus. He could spend hours discussing it with everyone and anyone who would listen. Oh, how he loved attending the Temple.

Shane left a legacy of kindness and love with all who knew him. He loved his family, friends, neighbors, and his church family. To quote his niece Amy Shaffer, "He was a badass who loved his family fiercely".

Shane was preceded in death by his parents, Vance Thompson and Matilda Mae Bishop Thompson, his sister, Rosetta Mae Moore and his brother, Eric Thompson.

Shane is survived by his wife, Lucy Olivares Thompson; his previous wife, Deborah Sue Smith Thompson; 6 children: Jason Thompson (Jeddi), Adam Thompson (Dare), Ryan Thompson (Bri), Zach Thompson, Joel Thompson (Ashley), Katie Bramer (Chad), eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Carol Loraine Rochette, Kathleen Louise Bragg, and his brother, Danny V Thompson.
