Susy (Susette) Hilsabeck, of Bella Vista, AR passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; stepdaughter Lynn; and parents, Lloyd and Margaret Hilsabeck. She is survived by her sister, Michele and husband Stephen; stepchildren, Darlene, Gary, and Patty. She was born and lived in Lincoln, Nebraska until the family moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where the family remained.

In 1976 she met Jack, and both eventually moved to Parkville, MO, a suburb of Kansas City to pursue their careers. Susy had a successful career employed by Bunzl International as the Credit Manager. Her responsibilities included interfacing with the finance division, sales force, and customers, often the mediator regarding credit lines. During those years she forged lasting relationships with her co-workers. She and Jack retired to Bella Vista, AR moving into the beautiful home they had designed and built.

Susy had many interests and pursued them with passion. She was artistic; quilting, designing jewelry, crafting stained glass panels and often donating them to local charity events. Other interests and experiences included golf with her husband and the "girls", equestrian horseback riding, hiking and canoeing. Her passion though since childhood was a love for animals, particularly dogs. Over the years she adopted many and sadly lost many, but they always remained in her heart. That passion continued throughout her life contributing to shelters as well as actively supporting laws protecting the welfare of animals. Her most enjoyable hobbies were gardening and landscape design. This required many trips to garden centers to select just the right plant and color for every outdoor area and pot.

Susy has lived a memorable life filled with diverse interests, experiences, and friendships. She will be missed and never forgotten by those who knew her as a friend and those of us who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at Lakepoint Restaurant and Event Center, Bella Vista, AR on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to I'm Your Huckleberry Rescue, P.O. Box 271, Pineville, MO 64856.
