Obituary

Terinda Katia (Mize) Evanoff passed away peacefully at her home in Bella Vista, Arkansas, on July 18, 2023, at the age of 66.  Terinda was born to Earl Mize and Nora Leona (Bohannon) Hixon in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 13, 1956.  As a child, she lived in Tulsa and other surrounding communities.  Terinda spent her adult life in Tulsa, various communities in Texas, including Keller, Southlake, and Las Colinas.

Terinda met her husband, Calvin, while working in a Tulsa restaurant as a teenager.  The couple married on April 23, 1976, and were happily married for 47 years.  She was an avid cook who thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family and friends over the years.  Terinda loved helping others and making them smile.  She will be best remembered by many family members for making favorite dishes upon their arrival at her home. Over the years, Terinda volunteered in various capacities at their son's schools, local food pantry, and clothing store.  In her early adult life, she worked as an accounting clerk and later worked with Calvin in their commercial landscaping business and accounting/finance consulting business.  She was a tireless supporter of both her husband's business endeavors and son's many interests while he was growing up.

Terinda battled cancer for a ten year period prior to her passing, demonstrating her stoic, yet constant positive attitude through her continuous pain.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Calvin; son, Brandon (wife-Vanessa) Evanoff; and two grandchildren, Vincent, and Jocelyn Evanoff.

A small family memorial service will take place.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her remembrance to Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Avenue, Springdale, AR 72762.
