Tommy Ray Ard, 64, of Salem, MO, passed away on July 5, 2025, after the most perfect day spent by the water with family. He was born on February 6, 1961, to Elma "Penny" (Ard) Steelman and Rex Ard.

Tommy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. On September 12, 1986, he married Cindy Sue Edwards.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Tommy loved hunting and being near the water—whether fishing, boating, gigging, kayaking, or simply enjoying the peace of nature. He found happiness in the simplicity and beauty of the natural world and cherished every opportunity to share it with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Penny Steelman and Rex Ard; his brother, Ricky Ard; and his beloved in-laws, Bill and Vinita Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Ashley Nivens, Jenna Deason and husband, Justin, and Cody Ard; his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Paxton Deason, Amelia Deason, RaeLynn Ard, and BrinLee Ard; and his siblings, William and wife, Glenna Ard, Linda and husband, Christopher Hodge, David and wife, Susie Ard, Bobby and wife, Jackie Ard, Barry and wife, Barb Ard, Shelly Ard Snodgrass, and Sherry Ard Acker.

A private celebration of life with family and close friends will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by spending time outdoors with your loved ones—just as he would have wanted.
