Vanda Marie Boyd, of Sulphur Springs, AR, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 3, 2024, at the age of 75. Vanda was born March 11, 1949, to Jim and Anna Marie O'Rourke in Topeka, Kansas.

Vanda grew up taking care of her siblings and working on the family farm. In 1987 she met the love of her life, Bill Boyd. From their first date they were inseparable. She and Bill were married on August 11, 1987. Vanda and Bill operated the Chow Hound Café in Sulphur Springs, and later, Vanda's Construction Company, traveling all over the Ozarks and beyond, doing construction work until their retirement in 2008.

Vanda was an avid fisher and loved spending time at the cabin on Grand Lake. She enjoyed camping with her family. Vanda liked to crochet. She loved craft fairs, shopping, and, of course, going to the casinos. She enjoyed traveling and exploring her Indian heritage. Vanda loved her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a gentle soul and always offered a kind and listening ear.

Vanda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Zona Craig; her brother, Lannie Heston; daughter, Billie Jo Mullen; and grandson, James McFerron.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Bill Boyd of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Tonya Ackerman and husband John, Karen White and husband Tom, Quilla and husband Chuck of Nixa, MO; son, Corey Birchfield and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Crystal and Jeff of Siloam Springs; son, Lonnie Boyd and wife Michiko; grandchildren, Logan and Jordan of Bella Vista; son, James Boyd; granddaughter, Jasmine; daughter, Dawn Backus and her husband Frank; grandchildren, Shelby (Winter Haven FL), Robert, and Tyler of Ridgedale, MO, Zachary, Richelle, Charlee, Nicholas, and Jasmine; and several great-grandchildren.

A private Celebration Service will be held for family in the following days.
