Velma Ellen Hendrickson, 90, of Hiwasse, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Velma was born in Maysville, Arkansas, on August 31, 1934, to William Holland Harrington and Lora Ann (Wilhelm) Harrington.

Velma welcomed her son Mick in 1954. She later married Victor Byron "Pude" Hendrickson on May 7, 1961, and together they raised: Bill, Terry, and Mick. Later in life, they adopted two daughters, Carly and Lora. Velma was a devoted member of the Hiwasse Christian Church for several decades.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Perry, Denny, Rudy, Billy Joe; her sister Fredia Shook; and her husband Pude.

She is survived by two sons, Mick Lawson of Hiwasse, Arkansas, and Bill Hendrickson and his wife, Linda, of Neosho, Missouri; four daughters: Terry Pruit and her husband, David, of Hiwasse, Arkansas; Carly Hendrickson and her fiancé Sheng Khang of Rogers, Arkansas; and Lora Kelder of Southwest City, Missouri She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Velma was a devoted matriarch, who cherished her family above all else. Her yard and gardens were her pride and joy, and her home radiated warmth and comfort, welcoming everyone who entered. She went above and beyond for everyone she knew. She was a hard worker with many hobbies including leather work, ceramics, reading, canning, and gardening.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Larry Weihe officiating. The burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Gravette, Arkansas.
