Vernon Gruhn, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on October 26, 2026, at Circle of Life in Bentonville. He was born on December 23, 1928, at Poole, Nebraska, to William and Viola (Lueders) Gruhn.

He was baptized on January 13, 1929, in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poole, NE by Rev. C.F. Frederickson. He was confirmed on March 29, 1942, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE by Rev. M.R. Miessler.

He attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Parochial School and Deshler High School in Deshler, NE. He then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He worked for several insurance companies for 39 years as a claims adjuster and agency management before retiring in September of 1992. He enjoyed golf, computers, and volunteering. He has been a member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church since 1994.

On October 2, 1949, he married Margaret June Wilson of Lincoln, NE at Calvary Lutheran Church. To this union were born four children: Rev. Michael (Wanda) Gruhn of Lubbock, TX; Diane Burgess-Turner of Bella Vista, AR; James (Sharon) Gruhn of Lincoln, NE; and Alan Gruhn of Lincoln, NE. They have 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his son, Michael; his sister, Beverly Kuehn; and his brother-in-law, Donald Kuehn.
