Mr. William Robert (Bill) Barnes, 95, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2026, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after a recent decline in health.

Bill entered this life on February 12, 1931, in Anderson, Missouri, one of seven children born to the late Lawrence Leslie "L.L." and Ida (Bell) Barnes. He was a lifelong resident of Anderson and a graduate of Anderson High School.

For approximately seventy years, Bill was the owner and operator of Barnes Appliance in Anderson. Like his father before him, he built a reputation as a skilled, honest, and dependable small‑town businessman. Bill was well known as "the guy who could fix anything," and friends and neighbors often brought him items that had nothing to do with appliances or electronics. He would set them on his workbench, study them, and—more often than not—figure out a way to make them work again. His shop became a gathering place where people stopped not only for repairs but for conversation, advice, and a familiar smile.

Bill had an energetic personality and loved being around people. He enjoyed lively conversations, joking with friends, and keeping up with everything happening in the community. His outgoing nature made him easy to talk to, and he had a talent for turning even routine visits into enjoyable interactions.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of the McDonald County Living Center for their exceptional dedication and professionalism. Their thoughtful care and warm presence made a meaningful difference in Bill's life, and he felt truly at home during his time there.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Barnes, on November 3, 2024; daughters, Nancy Barnes Sanny and Janet Barnes; son, Robert; two grandsons, Jeremy Sanny and Ryan Barnes; two brothers, John Leslie Barnes and Lawrence Eugene "Gene" Barnes; and four sisters, Mary Bell Stone, Nancy Ruth Goff, Helen Hillyard, and Margaret Roark.

Bill is survived by his son, John Barnes, and wife, Melee, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; granddaughter, Shawna Hardin; 8 great‑grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A private service will be held by the family.
