Obituary

William Dale Haskins, 82, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died September 15 th , 2022.  Bill was born August 3, 1940, in Chanute, Kansas, to the late Dale Haskins and Colus Haskins Carlburg.

Bill graduated from Chanute High School in 1958 and immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corp, where he served in Okinawa and Twentynine Palms, CA.

He married Loleta Petty of Chanute, KS on May 7, 1959.

After serving time in the Marine Corp, he returned to Kansas and worked for 20 years as an electrician for a small heating and air conditioning company in Augusta, KS before going to work for Mobil Oil Refinery, also in Augusta, KS.  When the Augusta Refinery closed, he transferred to the Mobil Refinery in Beaumont, TX.  Bill held several different jobs in both the operations and maintenance departments of the refinery.  He retired after 20 years of service with Mobil and moved to Bella Vista, AR.

Bill was an avid fisherman, loved to work in his workshop, and was the local "handyman" in every neighborhood he lived in.  He was also one of the many handymen that kept Highlands Church "up and running", proudly serving on the Trustee's Committee for several years.  He was a member of the American Legion.

Bill used every minute of everyday doing something productive and when Bill meets our Lord, He will no doubt say "Bill, my son, job well done."

William is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Frank Carlburg, Sr., brother Frank Carlburg, Jr., and sister Joyce Gibson.
