William John Henning, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, at Westwood Health and Rehab in Springdale Arkansas after a brief illness.

William was born on April 4, 1932, in Eau Claire County Wisconsin, the son of George and Myrtle (Campbell) Henning. William grew up with his older brother, George on the family farm on Stoney Lonesome Road near Augusta.

William and Ellen (Wood) Henning were married in Augusta, Wisconsin on May 27,1950. The newlyweds made their first home on a farm near Boyd, Wisconsin where they welcomed a son, Roger in 1951 and daughter, Ruth in 1953.  After a tornado destroyed their farm the Hennings moved to Eau Claire where another son, Michael, was born in 1955.

In 1957 William's brother, George recruited him to come to work with him hauling new cars. William's new job would bring his family to Big Lake, Minnesota where another daughter, Carol would join the family in 1960.  Bill and Ellen, as everyone knew them, were very involved in the establishment of Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Big Lake.

In 1964 after being transferred to Dilworth Minnesota the Hennings moved to Moorhead, Minnesota where they would reside until Bill and Ellen retired in1992.

Upon retirement, after thirty-five years as a Teamster, Bill and Ellen moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where they lived for the next 30 years.

Bill happily served the Lord along with Ellen his entire married life.  They were very active at the Moorhead Evangelical Free Church and served in many capacities there.  After moving to Arkansas, Bill and Ellen were again very involved in the establishment of a new church.  They were active members of the Village Bible Church and actively helped with the operations of their church's food pantry.

William enjoyed talking to his brother daily, NASCAR, golf, and donuts!

William was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Ellen; his brother, George; daughter, Ruth; daughters-in-law, Beth and Nancy; and son-in-law, Michael Johnson.

He is survived by three children, Roger (Linda) Henning, Michael Henning, Carol Henning Johnson; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

William Henning's remains will be interred at Bella Vista Memorial Garden in Bella Vista.
