Zathara J. Delaney, age 79, of Lancaster, California, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas, surrounded by her immediate family.

Born in 1945 in Torrance, California, to Opal Carey and Jim E. Tunin, Zathara spent her early years in Redding and Lancaster, California. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Robert B. Delaney, on December 4, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion to their family.

Zathara held various roles throughout her life, including working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and being a dedicated stay-at-home mother. She retired after many years working as an estimator from a Southern California lumber company. However, her greatest joy was being a mother not only to her own children but also to their friends, who were always welcomed with open arms.

A passionate volunteer for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Zathara spent many years helping families prepare puppies for their important roles as service animals. Her dedication to this cause reflected her deep compassion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Zathara is survived by her daughters, Zabrina Smith and Zia D. Neitz; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her legacy of love, strength and kindness will live on through them and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In remembrance of Zathara's generous spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others, the family requests that contributions be made in her honor to Guide Dogs for the Blind Inc. or Circle of Life NWA.

May her memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew her, and may her spirit of generosity and care live on.
